This time last year I was (admittedly stood) next to Hilary Alexander on the front row of the first show of London Fashion Week, attending a 10am champagne reception afterwards with a talk from fashion-forward mayor Boris Johnson.
This year I was at New York Fashion Week, but slightly less invited. My fashion intern friends and I did not really care much for the invites on this occasion as just standing outside Lincoln Center and observing the Fashion Week chaos occurring around us was good enough (although some champagne and fashion commentary from Boris would have been welcome additions).
Never ones to disappoint, the fashion bloggers were out in force with their eccentric style being captured by dozens of other happy snapping bloggers. The Buyers are easily identified by their Fashion Week Uniform of a statement shirt and tailored shorts or trousers with heeled ankle boots (interchangeable with Louboutins), a sleek up-do and completed with sunglasses and a no-nonsense strut through the crowd…
